Located in Winkler Hall on Busch campus, the RU-tv Broadcast Communications Living-Learning Community offers special benefits to its student residents who want to learn about broadcast communications. They will have the opportunity to work and learn in the field while living with students who share common interests. These residents have use of an in-hall professional television studio!

Students in this community will be required to participate in a 1.5-credit course offered through the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS) for both fall and spring semesters during their first year of residence on the floor. The course will focus on media messages and the creative aspects of producing television and will involve discussions of media literacy, story-telling, popular culture including reality television, and historical perspectives on visual images, among other topics. The course will count towards graduation credit for School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and for the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS).

Returning RU-tv Broadcast Communications Living-Learning Community residents will have other curricular opportunities made available to them upon their second, third, or fourth years.

All Rutgers-New Brunswick students are welcome to apply and must submit an application that can be found at https://ruinfo.rutgers.edu/jobpost/winkler/. Applications received by May 1, 2009, are guaranteed consideration. Applications will be reviewed and finalists will be required to interview with RU-tv staff.

This residential opportunity features large suites located in Winkler Hall on the Busch Campus. Not your average residence hall room, each suite has its own bathroom and living room and accommodates six people with two per bedroom. Carpeting, telephone, cable TV, and Internet access are all included.
