Paid network assistants gain hands-on experience in broadcasting production, graphics, programming, engineering, and operations.
Entry-level network assistants are charged with monitoring the cable network to ensure that all channels are operating normally. They build on-air schedules, prepare weekly program schedules, regularly monitor all RU-tv channels for quality distribution, and catalogs the tape library, among other duties. A network assistant has the opportunity to get involved in production, after completing involvement and training requirements. Production duties would include working in the studio, field shoots, editing, and special events. Additional requirements, include:

Starting Wage: |
$7.25/hour to start, with many opportunities for promotion. |

Training: |
30-35 hours of paid training to commence, once hired. |

Hours of Operation: |
8:30 a.m.–midnight, Monday through Friday |
|
Schedule: |
10–12 hours per week is required (Including final exam periods), scheduled around your academic class schedule. |
