The Digital Conversion and RU-tv
You will NOT need to purchase a new digital television to enjoy
RU-tv programming, and no set top box is required.
America's conversion to digital broadcasting by over-the-air broadcast television stations is now complete. People with television sets that had been receiving their signals with a rooftop antenna, or rabbit-ears have either purchased a digital conversion box or a new digital television to continue to be able to receive free, over-the-air television.
All you’ll need to connect your television to RU-tv is a length of coaxial cable with “F” fittings at each end. Visit http://rutv.rutgers.edu/connect.shtml for instructions.
If you are bringing a digital television you will still be able to receive all of RU-tv’s analog channels, as well as several new digital channels, including the HD signals from ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.
Over the next few years RU-tv will transition to digital delivery. However during the transition the analog channel line up will still include a wide variety of programming choices. We would like to involve you in the process. Please contact us a rutv@ur.rutgers.edu and share your thoughts.
